01

The machine

Beauty, brass and bureaucratic cruelty share the same spotlight.

Gisela watches teenagers processed into soldiers by a system that has learned to make catastrophe look ceremonial. She answers it in the language she controls: performance.

The number is funny because she is fearless, and frightening because every flourish points back to the machinery waiting beyond the footlights.

Gisela commanding a surreal wartime cabaret
Story into imageGisela turns conscription into a savage floor show. Brass, machinery, beauty, and bureaucratic cruelty collide as teenagers are dressed for glory and delivered to a war already consuming them.

02

On stage

Make the paperwork dance.

Desks, stamps, uniforms and filing cabinets can lock into a mechanical rhythm. The ensemble begins as functionaries and mutates into a menacing big band.

Gisela should appear to command the room even as the audience understands that the room is closing around her.

03

Why this number matters

The number gives Gisela authorship inside a world determined to write her fate.

Her wit is not escape. It is resistance: the decision to name the absurdity before the absurdity can swallow her whole.

The band swings. The machine advances. Gisela refuses to miss a beat.
